Journey to the End of the Night is a free street game of epic proportion, presented twice now in Chicago by CGØ. It is a pursuit across the city in 6 parts: players will try to make it through a series of checkpoints, while avoiding being caught by chasers. Those who fall will become chasers themselves, rising to pursue their former friends and allies. No skates, no bikes, no cars, just your feet and the good old public transportation.

This year, Journey Chicagø was run concurrently with Journey DC. Chicago Players were given a phone number to the land-line at the DC bonus checkpoint. If a DC player was at that checkpoint when a Chicago player called, they swapped useful information: DC players had the address of the Chicago bonus checkpoint, while Chicago players had the combination to a locked box at one of DC's checkpoints. Chicago player movements, tracked by the DC staff, also triggered special sequences in the DC game.

THE TROPHIES

Needless to say, the most precious trophy was players' sweat-stained, tattered maps... but in order to encourage extraordinary adventure, two hand-sculpted, one-of-a-kind trophies were created by artist/organizer Dax Tran-Caffee.

RUNNER AWARDS

All players to cross the finish line with a complete map recieved a BADGE OF MERIT.

Laura and Julia, the first players to arrive at the finish line (61 minutes) with a complete map took home the RUNNER TROPHY:

CHASER AWARDS

All Chasers who arrived at the finish line with at least one catch received a BADGE OF VALOR.

Brian, the Chaser with the most catches (19), took home the CHASER TROPHY:
